Upon entering Australia for a booking Hero is detained by the border patrol for an invalid entertainers Visa. Being the stud that he is he talks his way into a proper visa and most likely hits the interviewer once the camera stop rolling. Goofs like Austin Aries could learn a thing or two from Chris Hero.

The gimmick: Write an essay on a pet. Pay $200 bucks to enter. Minimum 5000 entries. Winner gets Terri’s house and $100,000 cash prize.

What a shame, the contest/scam never received the pre-requistie number of applications (or $200 fees). From Terri’s website:

October 8, 2008: I want to say a very big thank you to all of you who put your hearts and souls into the essays for Make The World Write! Unfortunately during these tough economic times we did not get the minimum number of entries to follow through with the contest. Refunds will be concluded for those who entered within two weeks. I believe in this idea and would love to try again in the future when things calm down a bit. Because of this…I will leave the Make The World “Write” website up and will send out a press release when the contest happens again. In the meantime…go do something nice for someone today! Much love to all, Terri

Digging into the contest rules produces this goodie:

You further agree that such submissions, your essays and photos become the property of Sponsor……distributed, perfomed, and displayed in any media or medium, or any form, format or forum now known or herafter developed for any purpose in perpetuity without further notice.

Basically Terri owns your story and can do whatever she wants with it. Expect to see Terri publish a book of “her own writing” in the near future. Ugg..

Go strip before you hit 50 (if she’s not already there).

Ric Flair Shoot Interview Update

According to the Pro-Wrestling Torch newsletter Vince McMahon became upset once he heard that Ric Flair had agreed to do a shoot interview with a non-WWE company. When Flair retired from active WWE duty after Wrestlemania 24 he essentially became a free agent. Any WWE appearances since that point and in the future are on a per-appearance fee basis.

Independent wrestling company, Highspots.com , producer of wrestling equipement, co-promoters, and DVD sellers, signed Ric Flair to an appearances contract. This subsequently opened the door for Highspots in the Ric Flair shot interview bidding wars, which they ended up winning for a rumored price of $50,000.

The Shoot was recorded in September, with close to 20 hours of total footage being shot. Highspots will release two versions, a three disk set and a four disc set (limited to 1000) with 13 hours of footage.

Exclusive Deleted Scenes from the Ric Flair Shoot Interview

I’m not usually a purchaser of wrestling DVD’s. But four discs and 13+ hours of uncensored, non-wwe sanctioned Shoot time is just too much to pass up.

To purchase either DVD you can use either the our links below:

The Money in the Bank match is held yearly at Wrestlemania. It consists of six to eight wrestlers, depending on the year. Realistically, this is a match set-up to push a future challenger, to showcase athletic wrestlers, and to include some workers on the years biggest show that otherwise would be left off due to a lack of a strong fued or storyline.

Past Money in the Bank (MITB) Winners

Edge (2005)

Mr. Kennedy (2007)

After sustaining a triceps injury, the WWE decided to write Mr. Kennedy out of the MITB. He lost the briefcase on May 7th to Edge in an impromptu challenge match.

Edge (2007)

Some Money In the Bank Facts

MITB has been cashed in four times. All four have gone on to win their match-ups

MITD in the bank winners are usually boarderline heavyweights. A true heavyweight has yet to win this match.

Of the four “cash-ins” only one, Rob Van Dam vs John Cena, has been a full length match

The past three MITB have all been cashed in within two and half months following Wrestlemania.

The lone exception was the first MITB, cashed in January 8th 2006 by Edge.

Chris Jericho is given storyline credit as the creator of the money in the bank match-up.

Shelton Benjamin holds the all-time record for money in the bank appearances with three

No bullshit. You won’t believe the hook!

The gimmick: Write an essay on a pet. Pay $200 bucks to enter. Minimum 5000 entries. Winner gets Terri’s house and $100,000 cash prize.

WTF?

Let me get this straight… Runnels play an accountant type way back in WCW, thus dresses up in business attire and feels like a smarty pants. After years and a battle with gravity that silicone will have a tough time winning, she decides to become a literary critic.

New & Existing Home Sales in the US are at a 17 year low!

Foreclosures are everywhere. Why the fuck would anyone want another home? Is this Terri’s half-ass way out of her mortgage? Perhaps she’ll write off the “market value” of her house, which of course wouldn’t garner anything close to the write off value on the open market. Let’s check an interview quote:

“The idea came about because I was going to sell my home and move out of Gainsville (Fla.), and the housing market absolutely stinks. This is something another person had done that I had heard of and I thought it was a great idea”

Hey, at least she’s honest. More wackiness:

“The people who have said ugly and nasty things are negative people. I sleep well at night knowing that bottom line this contest helps everyone. I can’t help any other family unless I help my own first. You spend $200 and there is a one-in-5,000 chance that you will have a home and $100,000 on top of it. If you spend the $200 and don’t win, worst-case scenario is you have thought about how to make the world a better place and honed your writing skills.”

The catch is Terri needs 5000 submissions or she can alter the winnings. Who monitors the number of entries? I’m very suspect on who the winner will be and how the “$100,000″ will be awarded. As scams go I wouldn’t be shocked if a real estate agent won the contest. The agent gets a house, Terri gets to write off a high market value and I’m sure gets a kickback of $90,000 or so on the winning prize.

I wish I could make shit like this up. Really, I do. If you’ve lost your mind here is the link to the contest http://maketheworldwrite.com/

My advice for Terri? Do what most wrestlers do. Become a B level actress, open some shitty small business in your home town or play a genie in Toronto.

More wacky shit on the way. Add the RSS, Bookmark, Tattoo the URL, whatever gets it done.

Kimbo Slice pleased many critics tonight with his 6th grade school yard skills. What a joke. His “ground game” is similar to that of a 12 year old kid, rolling and attempting to power out. Now we love Bas but fuck, does he just take Kimbo’s cash or does he actually train him? A pro-wrestling school “trick” is to advertise the school and have some chump train you (ie hart dungeon trainers aren’t any of the Harts, just students a year removed from the school). His ground game skills harkened back to the days of UFC 1 - 5.

Kimbo’s power was also proven to be a myth as he hit the Thompson with multiple clean shoots. Yeah, they may work against a bouncer but they didn’t do much against a professional fighter, and not much of one may I add. Thompson has suffered multiple knockouts and it is really concerning that Kimbo couldn’t get the job done.

I guess the real fun that we can all take away from this fight is how the Kimbo backers will ultimately spin this fight. I can just image the activity at the Sherdog forms, “Kimbo destroys ears” “If it lasted any longer Kimbo would have murdered him” “He was giving up 20 pounds, what do you expect” etc, etc, etc.

Put the legend of Kimbo to bed folks and call Bo Cantrell to see if he wants a rematch.
